Forming abs is hard work. It takes a lot of time and energy, which is why you want them to really pop once all of your hard work is done. However, sometimes it's impossible to see a woman's abs, because the muscle is hidden by a bit of leftover flab. If that's the case for you, here are a few different ways to get your abs to finally show:
Table of contents:
- eat more protein
- do cardio
- do a variety of exercises
- exercise all the time
- don’t keep changing your diet
- eat multiple meals a day
- get rid of your body fat
- drop your calorie intake
- train right
- have patience
1 Eat More Protein
Protein will boost your metabolism. That means you'll end up burning away your excess fat faster. When that happens, your ab muscles will become visible. That's why you should eat more protein, like meat, fish, cheese, tofu, beans, lentils, yogurt, nuts, and seeds.
2 Do Cardio
Even though cardio isn't going to build your ab muscles, it will help you lose fat--and the more fat you lose, the easier your abs will be to see. So don't forget to hop on that treadmill.
3 Do a Variety of Exercises
In addition to your cardio, you need to do abdominal exercises that really work the muscles you're trying to focus on. That means you should be doing a lot of crunches, planks, flutter kicks, squats, and leg raises. The more variety, the better. So don't stick to one easy exercise and do it all the time. Make sure to switch it up.
4 Exercise All the Time
You're never going to get abs if you only exercise once a week. You need to get to work as often as you can. Even if you develop those abs you've been dreaming about, you can't get lazy. If you stop exercising, then those abs will disappear even faster than they appeared. So make sure to exercise consistently if you wan to see results.
5 Don’t Keep Changing Your Diet
Even though there are plenty of different diets out there, you don't want to test one out one week, and then switch to a new diet the next week. If you do that, it can actually cause your body more harm than good. Try to find a diet that's right for you and stick to it. That's the only way it'll work, after all.
6 Eat Multiple Meals a Day
If you want to train your body to burn fat efficiently, you need to eat five or six small meals a day instead of eating three large meals and starving in between. When you eat small meals throughout the day, you'll end up stabilizing your blood sugar levels. That should help get rid of your pesky sweet cravings that cause you to binge on snacks and gain weight that'll hide your abs.
7 Get Rid of Your Body Fat
At the end of the day, the key to making your ab muscles pop is to make sure you have low body fat. In order to do that, you need to exercise and eat right. If you only do abdominal exercises, then you could create the muscles you've been dying to have, but you'll never see them. They'll only be visible once you get rid of your body fat.
8 Drop Your Calorie Intake
By dropping calorie intake by 500 a day you'll be quickly on your way to dropping fat which means your midsection will shrink and those cute little abs hiding in there will begin to pop out like flowers in the spring!
9 Train Right
You can't jump in and do 500 crunches a day every day. You need to train your abs slowly and make sure to do exercises that target all the different parts of them to optimize your ab growth.
10 Have Patience
Your abdomen is the last place to lose fat usually so you're going to just have to take your time training correctly, eat right, and watch the days tick by until your body starts losing your midsection.
It doesn't matter what you currently weigh. With enough hard work, you'll be able to get those sexy abs you've always wanted. What other tips do you have for getting your abs to show?
