I accidentally stumbled across the Lifetime Ladder exercise not long ago. I have to admit, I'm thoroughly impressed. It's not like other exercise routines I've seen and that alone made me want to try it. While it may seem simple, don't let that fool you. The Lifetime Ladder exercise could easily become your favorite set of exercises that you'll want to continue for life.
You don't have to be a fitness junkie to get started with the Lifetime Ladder exercise. The routine is based on rungs of a ladder. You move up a rung each week or whenever you feel ready. All you have to do is repetitions of basic exercises such as push ups, leg lifts and steps. The best part – it only takes 10 to 15 minutes a day.
I hate finding a great fitness routine only to discover I need $100 of equipment to do it. This routine won't break the bank. All you need is a clear area. If you have hardwood or slick floors, a non-skid fitness mat or thick rubber picnic blanket might be a good idea. Otherwise, all you need is your own body and you're ready to workout.
The Lifetime Ladder isn't meant to help you drop tons of weight quickly or get an instant six pack. Instead, it helps improve your general health by gradually introducing your body to physical activity. It boosts your stamina, drops pound gradually and safely and strengthens your entire body. It pushes you just enough with each rung to help you constantly improve yourself inside and out.
The routine begins with an introductory set of rungs to help you adjust to physical activity without hurting yourself. While ideally you're supposed to try the next rung after seven days, you don't have to. You only advance to the next rung when you're ready. Simply keep doing the exercises on your current rung until you're ready to advance. When you find your ideal level, stick with it.
Even though the exercises seem simple, they're designed to work your entire body. Don't be surprised if you feel a little sore when you first get started, especially if you're not used to exercising much. Your arms, legs, butt, back and core will all feel it. Since it's a little each day, your muscles aren't overworked, making it a healthy daily routine.
As you advance on the ladder, you may find the workout to be more of a warm up than a full routine. Many people use it to warm up before running, cycling or dancing. They mix it in with strength training, cardio or yoga to get a fuller workout. Since it only takes around 15 minutes most days, you still have time to do a little more to better reach your fitness goals. Think of it as preparation for bigger workouts in the future.
If you tend to be a couch potato, the Lifetime Ladder is perfect for you. It starts you off slowly and doesn't take long. After just a few months, you'll start feeling more energized. Instead of texting on the couch or sitting with your laptop, you'll feel like taking a walk or doing some yard work. The better you feel, the more activity you'll want to do.
