1. Choose a Workout You like
Your workout will go by faster if you like doing it. While I don’t love exercise, I do like some forms of it better than others. You’re probably the same way. There are so many options to choose from that there’s bound to be one that suits you. Two that seem to be very popular right now are Spin Classes and Pure Barre classes.
2. Work out with a Friend
Some people like to work out with a friend. It’s sure to make your time go by faster. You can chat while you walk, jog or do other exercises. If your workout doesn’t leave a lot of room for chatting, you can work out together and then grab a smoothie afterwards. Having a friend along can help your workout to fly by.

3. Read
This won’t work for everyone or every exercise but this is how I make my workout fly by most of the time. If you do something like walking on a treadmill or using a stationary bike then it might be an option. Avid readers will squeeze reading into everything that they can, including exercise. Another way to enjoy reading while you work out is to listen to an audio book. You can listen to the latest bestsellers while you get your workout on.
4. Turn on Your Tunes
Another way to make your workout fly by is to turn on some tunes. I find it helpful to have some playlists specifically for working out. To do this, choose upbeat music that gives you the motivation to make the most of your workout. I find that I always get a better workout if I have music going to help the time go by faster. The right music can pump you up for a great workout.
5. Catch up on Your Favorite Shows
This is another great idea to help make your workout fly by. Have a favorite show but no time to watch it? Use your workout time. This works for a lot of different workouts. You can enjoy your shows anytime you’re working out with options like Netflix and DVR.

6. Use It as Thinking Time
We all have things going on in our lives. Good things, bad things, things that we’re unsure about. Your workout can be a good time to think things over. Some workouts require that you play close attention in order to exercise correctly. Other exercises are more repetitive and allow for thinking time. If yours is one of the latter then this is an option.
7. Focus on Your Workout
Sometimes the best way to make your workout fly by is to get focused on it. Like I tell my children, getting interested in something will always make it go by faster. Instead of thinking how much you hate working out and wondering how much longer you have to go, try to concentrate on getting the best workout you can. You’ll be surprised at the difference this makes. Not only will your workout be better but you’ll feel better emotionally when you aren’t having such negative thoughts.
