7 Fun Workout Programs That Don't Feel like a Workout ...

Talk to anyone who knows me, and they will tell you that I don’t like workout programs unless they’re fun workout programs. I’m sure that could be said about a majority of the world, though, but it’s really bad for me. Combine a lack of athleticism with my hate for working out, and it’s just not a good mix. Because of that, I’m constantly on the lookout for fun workout programs that don’t feel like a workout. If you’re like me, this list is definitely for you!

1. Zumba

Zumba I was a dancer for fifteen years, so dance has always been one of the best fun workout programs for me. During my years spent dancing, I participated in a handful of Zumba classes, and I can vouch for the fact that it is one of the best workout programs that don’t feel like a workout. It’s so much fun that you almost completely forget that you’re working out. It just feels like you’re dancing and having a good time, but when you’re done, you will definitely feel like you’ve worked out. It’s one of my go-to fun workout programs!

2. Yoga

Yoga Yoga has been an essential part of my lifestyle for years, as I’m sure it is for many other people. If it’s not an essential part of your lifestyle yet, make it one. It’s not technically a cardio workout, but it definitely helps with strength. Besides physical health, yoga will do wonders for your mental health! It will inevitably make you feel so much more peaceful and relaxed.

Frequently asked questions

3. Swings

Swings Embrace your inner child and find the closest playground. Try to avoid it when children are present to avoid looking creepy, but just swing for a half hour or so and you’ll get a workout without even realizing it! Beware, though, I tried this out and got really motion-sick from it. Apparently we don’t have the same tolerance we did as children.

4. Trampoline

Trampoline Trampolines go hand-in-hand with swinging. Find a trampoline, turn on some music, and pretend to be a kid again. Jumping on trampolines is an awesome cardio workout that doesn’t really feel like it. When you’re done, you’ll be breathless, but I’m pretty sure almost everyone would prefer jumping on a trampoline to running a mile or two.

5. Swimming

Swimming If the weather permits, swimming can be an awesome workout. Just like jumping on a trampoline, I think most people prefer swimming to running. Maybe that’s just me. Either way, swimming is a great workout and you won’t even feel like you’re working out. If you can swim, give it a try as your next workout. You may become hooked!

6. Video Games

Video Games Yes, you read that right. Video games are probably the last workout you expected to see on this list, but let me explain. Video games that get you moving are more popular than ever these days. If you have access to a Wii or xBox Kinect, use it to your advantage and get a workout in! They have so many different options that you’ll never get bored, and you’ll never feel like you’re working out. Instead, you’ll feel like you’re just playing your favorite game!

7. Go for a Hike

Go for a Hike If you’re lucky enough to live in an area with gorgeous scenery, don’t take it for granted. Instead, go for a hike. You may see your town like never before, and you’ll get a workout in! You’ll probably be so wrapped up in the scenery that it won’t even feel like you’re working out! Going for a walk or a hike while taking in beautiful scenery is one of my absolute favorite workouts that don’t feel like workouts!

What are your favorite workouts that don’t feel like workouts? Will you try any of these? Let me know in the comments!
