With our busy lives and schedules it's often necessary to work out in the middle of the day, perhaps during lunch hour. If you need to return to work promptly or are meeting people right after your workout, you'll need some quick ways to freshen up that don't require a full shower but still leave you feeling clean! Exercise is important and finding time to do it takes effort, so hopefully with these time-saving tips on freshening up, you'll be more willing to hit the gym!

1. Baby Wipes

No one likes the feel (or smell) of dried-on sweat. When you're pinched for time after a mid-day workout and unable to shower, baby wipes are the next best thing! Gentle on skin, they can reach every area of the body for instant-freshness. Scented or unscented, baby wipes are great for many purposes!

2. Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a woman's holy grail product. It extends the days in-between hair washes, thus making your hair products last longer, it adds volume, and prevents your hair from being over-washed and dried out! Next time you hit the gym, instead of washing your hair (if it didn't already need it), try a dry shampoo for an instant lift!

3. Talc-free Body Powder

After a workout, your body still sweats to cool down. Using a talc-free body powder will help to absorb moisture and keep you dry and fresh! Talc is harmful if inhaled so avoid it if possible. Baby powder (I love Burts Bees Dusting Powder) is great because it's super gentle and smells so fresh!

4. Body Spray/ Perfume

If you're looking for something a little stronger to mask the post-workout odor, go for a body spray or perfume. Choose light and fresh fragrances because those are pleasant and don't send the message that you're hiding stench. Also make sure you don't overuse them, because that also implies you're coving up a smell!

5. Deodorant

Deodorant is a must if you want to stop odor and sweat in its tracks. Of course, wear it during your workout but also apply it again after to keep the sweat at bay!

6. Face Wash

Washing your face takes only a minute but it's a quick way to freshen up. It cools you down, removes sweat and impurities, and leaves a clean surface for light makeup. Makeup-removing wipes will also work and are even faster than a face wash!

7. Simple Makeup

After you've cleaned your face from sweat and impurities, you may want to apply a little makeup. You don't need a full face of makeup, but just a light layer will make you feel ready to go when you're unable to fully shower. Try a tinted BB cream, a little blush, a coat of mascara, and lip gloss! In two minutes, you'll be ready to go.

We all know that nothing beats a shower for cleanliness, but hopefully these tips will help when showering isn't an option after a workout! Do you have any other ways to freshen up that could be added to this list?
