1

Start the Day with a Workout

Whether you are traveling to a relative for the holiday or hosting yourself, you can always squeeze in a fitness session. It doesn’t have to be a long duration either, just 30 minutes can start your day the right way, elevate your metabolism and have you feeling great. This is one of the best holiday fitness tips to get you started.

2

Get off the Couch

As you attend holiday parties, do not sit on the sofa and surf the television. Get up and get active! Simply standing will burn more calories than being a couch potato and you can catch up with more relatives than sitting and waiting for everyone to come to you. So get up and get moving!

3

Eat Your Greens

Start making more salads during holiday time to have you feeling full and help you avoid overeating. Greens have plenty of fiber that can better your digestive health and help you to combat mindless eating. So make a few dressings, store in a tupperware and diversify your greens.

4

Sign up for a Holiday Run

There are so many Santa runs that are a heck of a lot of fun, so why not register? There are 5k runs and walks where you can help a great charity, like the Arthritis Foundation, and even dress up as Mrs. Claus. Sound like fun? Well that is because it is a blast, so register for a race in your local area soon!

5

Wear Fitted Clothes

Don’t let the cold weather have you hiding in big holiday sweaters because this is a recipe for weight gain. There are plenty of cute sweater dresses and fitted long sleeve tops that will help you to stay on track and avoid endless eating when you are out on the town. Studies show that fitted clothes help combat people from endless eating, so wear clothes that skim your body!

Host a Healthy Party

If you are hosting the holiday, do not start baking cheesecakes and every other high calorie indulgence. Make healthier food swaps that will not leave you feeling as if you are in diet deprivation. There are plenty of creative ways to eat healthy and at the party you host, you can share this with your guests (without them even knowing).

7

Get Outdoor Active

Winter time, depending upon where you live, presents opportunities to do so many fun activities that will have you burning calories, like skiing, ice skating, cross country skiing and so much more. So get out and enjoy the great outdoors in the winter wonderland just outside your door.
