1. Speed Walking
If you want to get a great workout and really feel the burn, try speed walking. Speed walking is a great aerobic exercise to work your legs and increase your cardiovascular strength. Try to walk at a 14 minute mile pace or quicker and keep moving along while pumping your arms. Speed walking is one of the best ways to get in shape.
2. Interval Walking
Try and walk as quick as you can (goal: 13 minute pace) for 7 mins, then walk at an easy pace (16 minute pace) for 3 minutes. Continue these intervals for 3-4 segments for a great workout so that you can get in shape by walking.

3. Social Walk
Call up a friend and meet for a social walk. Forget the easy pace because you are so focused on the conversation. Focus on the pace and your chat as you push one another for a great workout. Social walks are an ultra-effective workout that you will love! It is not only good for you physically but also mentally.
4. Walking with Weights
Want to add some extra resistance in your walks? Then try bringing along a set of 2-3 lb dumbbells. If you bring along weights you can do some bicep curls, overhead shoulders and even triceps kickbacks as you walk. This is a great way to strengthen and tone your body and you get a cardiovascular workout. Try it and challenge yourself to a great workout!
5. Around the World
Go to the track and walk laps. At the end of each lap, perform 10 burpees, 10 jumping jacks and 10 jump squats. Continue for 5-6 laps to challenge yourself to a great walking workout.
6. Walk to Your Destination
If you live in an area where it is safe to walk to local stores, why would you waste the gas to drive? Save on energy and give yourself an extra boost by speed walking to your destination. You will feel so accomplished when you get to your destination and even better when you complete this. This is a great way to take your mind off the workout you are doing and an easy way to add activity into your day.
7. Stair Walk
Head to the local track or anywhere with a lots of steps and do a stair workout. Go up and down the stairs quickly for 10 times, then perform 20 jumping jacks, then repeat for 3-5 times, depending on your fitness level. This workout is challenging yet very rewarding.
