1 When You’re Anxious
The best workout for when you’re anxious is definitely high intensity interval training. This is because it can help to take your mind off of any worries that you might have by forcing you to focus solely on the intensive exercise that you are doing. HIIT circuit training is not only draining, but it is also the brand of exercise that can make you feel most euphoric and satisfied afterwards. So if you want an immediate distraction that will also improve your mood in the long run, then high intensity interval training is definitely for you.
2 When You’re Angry
We all get angry sometimes, it’s a natural human emotion. A super healthy way to address this is to hit the gym and pump some serious weights. Nothing can channel anger better than putting all of your energy in to lifting weights. It takes complete and utter concentration and control, and the feeling of lifting can almost give you the feeling that you are physically lifting the anger away from your body.
3 When You’re Stressed
A session of moderate intensity cardio is perfect for somebody who is feeling a little bit stressed about a particular situation or just life in general. If there are a million thoughts going around in your head, nothing can clear them better than hitting the roads or the treadmill and going on a nice relaxed run. The constant flow of running can help you get in to a rhythm that will take your mind off your stress and work to calm you down through a routine and through the endorphins that will be released within your body.
4 When You’re Chilled
There is no better form of exercise for the super chilled-out than a nice spot of yoga. If you are already in your happy place, doing 15 to 30 minutes of yoga is going to ensure that you don’t break out of your chilled mood by putting yourself through anything super intensive. In fact, the benefits that you feel from yoga will only serve to further enhance your feeling of super chilled out-ness!
5 When You’re Confident
So you’re having a great day. You feel like you can take on the world. Why not make the most of this confidence and try your hand at a spot of CrossFit? Arguably the most insane form of workout around at the moment, CrossFit can take your confidence and channel in to some crazy feats of exercise that will leave you feeling like you have conquered the world!
6 When You’re Feeling Homely
The best workout for when you’re in the mood to not leave your own house is definitely to jump on YouTube and look up a few of the thousands of fantastic home based workout routines that people have posted online. There are routines to cater to all fitness levels, and this can be a great way of starting out in the world of exercise, to gain the confidence to finally venture out to the gym.
7 When You’re Feeling Sociable
If you are feeling particularly social, then the best thing to do is to head to the gym and sign up to whichever exercise classes take your fancy. Exercising in a group can be really motivational, especially if you are the kind of person who thrives from being in a group setting.
8 When You're Tired
We all have those days when we didn't get enough of our much needed beauty sleep the night before or maybe we just woke up on the wrong side of the bed - happens to the best of us! A simple yet effective exercise for when you're feeling tired is to walk...yes, really! This is a great way to give your body a fairly low-key workout that isn't going to be too intense or physically exhausting. You can also turn it up to a speed-walk if you're up for a little more heat without being totally full-on.
9 When You're Sad
Feeling down in the dumps lately? Here's an exercise that will significantly boost your mood and have you smiling and laughing in no time! The answer? An aerobics class! These are super fun, plus it's the perfect excuse to dance around to upbeat and uplifting songs! To really make the most of this exercise, ask a few of your friends to join you and make a day of it!
10 When You're Seriously Motivated
Although this may not be exactly a workout, it is a great idea for any of you who feel super pumped and motivated to exercise! Consider having your own personal trainer! They will be able to assist you through your workouts, challenge you, push you to do more and work harder...so if that's not a great match for anyone serious about their exercise out then I don't know what is!
Do you choose an exercise to match your mood or do you go through a routine whatever your mood?
