If you want to force yourself to exercise, you need ways to stop making excuses. There are tons of things to do throughout the day, but you need to make time for the most important activities. You need to put your health first. Here are some common reasons we decide to skip our workout and ways to stop making excuses.

1. I’m Busy

You can’t change how many hours there are in a day, but you can choose what to do with them. If you have a busy schedule, one of the ways to stop making excuses not to exercise is by planning out exactly what you’re doing and when you’re going to do it. You should be able to find at least a small space of time that you can use for exercising. If you can’t, then try to cut down on one of your other activities. Do you sleep for twelve hours at a time? Try to wake up earlier in order to make more time for yourself.

2. I Just Showered

Before you step into the shower, think about whether you have time to exercise. You don’t want to clean yourself off and then realize that you have a few hours of free time. Try to get some exercise in before you wash. If worse comes to worst, you can always work out after your shower and then take another one. There’s nothing wrong with a little water.

3. Blank Hurts

If you focus hard enough, you can always come up with a body part that hurts. Maybe your feet are sore or your stomach hurts a bit. Don’t let these excuses stop you from working out. If you have a real injury or illness, don’t exert yourself. But if you’re always coming up with different reasons why you can’t do a few sit-ups, you should think about whether or not you’re telling yourself the truth.

Maybe it’s too late to go jogging outside, but it’s never too late to run on a treadmill. If you don’t want to exercise before you go to bed, ask yourself why that is. Studies show that exercising before you go to bed can help you fall asleep and get a good night’s rest. Just don’t work out too heavily at night, because it could get you too pumped up. Stick to basic exercises that won’t cause you too much exertion.

There are plenty of chores you need to get done throughout the day. If one of them is reading a book for a class or leisure, you can do so while on an exercise bike. If you want to watch a certain TV show, you can do lunges during it. There are some activities that you can mix with your workouts. If you can do two things at once without messing either of them up, why not try it?

If you don’t think that you need to exercise because you’ve been eating healthy foods, reconsider your view. Eating healthy is a great thing to do. However, it’s not the only thing you should do in order to stay fit. You need to move your muscles and give your body a workout. You should eat healthy and exercise, not substitute one for the other.
