3 Things to do when You CBF to Work out ...

Listen, we’ve all been there. You know that the thing you should be doing is working out, but you just can’t bring yourself to get going! Motivation and inspiration isn’t always easy to come by, which can make exercise a real chore and struggle. However, not being motivated to go to the gym doesn’t mean you can’t be a little bit active! Here are three things to do when you can’t be f***ed to work out.

1. Walk the Dog

If you have a pup at home, then you are in luck! Take your best friend out for a nice long walk and, although it doesn’t necessarily feel like it, you are at least getting in some gentle cardio. Your doggo will want to play fetch and lots of other things as part of your outing, so you will find that you are walking and throwing and bending and stretching more than you might think. Getting some steps in during the day is better than none at all!

2. Ad Break Challenge

If you can’t face getting out to the gym, then try the ad break challenge instead. Whenever the show you are watching goes to commercials, do one of these five things: squats, burpees, push ups, oblique twists, or high knees. Picking one of these for every commercial in an hour long show can turn into its own little form of HIIT training!

Why not work on your mind if you can’t be motivated to work on your body? Find a quiet space in your home and spend five to ten minutes with your eyes closed, focusing on your breathing, releasing your thoughts and centering yourself. You never know, you might get so good at it that it leads you to finding a second wind and motivation for exercise!
