Why You Should Have Chocolate Milk after a Workout Rather than an Energy Drink ...

If you ever been to the gym, then it’s pretty safe to assume that the majority of people you see working out there will have some sort of energy drink by their side to help them through, and especially to top them up and the end when their levels are at their lowest. However, have you ever seen somebody with a glass of good old fashioned chocolate milk? It might sound crazy, but there is lots of science to prove that this is a better option! Here is why you should have chocolate milk after a workout rather than an energy drink!

Basically, experts are now saying that chocolate milk is a better energy and recovery boost for your body than a sports drink, and this is down to the carbohydrate content, protein content, fat content, flavonoids, and electrolytes and lots of different vitamins that make it the complete recovery drink.

The best part is that it is much cheaper to buy in bulk that dedicated energy drinks, and I don’t have to tell you that it is a much more delicious way to boost your energy and recovery after a hard workout!

Some recent tests were undertaken, and it was discovered that people who had consumed chocolate milk were able to exercise intensely for an average of six minutes longer than those who were provided with a generic energy drink. It improves heart rate and lactic acid levels, which can prevent you from cramping.

Chocolate milk is also not addictive in the way that some energy drinks are. In the UK, there is great concern over the number of teenagers who are drinking up to 6 cans of energy drink a day.

So next time you are planning a workout and need a beverage to accompany you, opt for that delicious carton of chocolate milk over the energy drink that until now you thought was the best plan of action!
