Camel Pose is a Brilliant Choice

Camel pose is ideal for increasing energy because bending backward opens your body up, increasing energy and alertness. To do this pose, kneel on your yoga mat, then bend your body back reaching for your feet with your hands. Let your head hang down, increasing oxygen and blood flow to your brain.

Add Bridge Pose to Your Routine Today

Bridge pose is one of the most common in any yoga routine. For good reason too. This pose is said to give you energy and restore your entire body at the same time. Lie on your mat, knees bent at a 90-degree angle. Lift your hips and lower torso up, keeping your arms straight at your sides. Easy, right?

3

Sphinx Pose is a No-Brainer

This pose gets its name from the position you hold while performing the move. Just doing the move stretches your back and opens up your body, helping restore energy and alertness in mere minutes. Lie on your stomach on your mat, then raise your upper body up onto your elbows, arms bent at a 90-degree angle. Perfect!

Upward Facing Dog is Different, but Perfect

You’ve heard of downward facing dog, but have you ever done upward facing dog? Yoga experts say it’s a great choice for lifting and opening your chest, which can give you an energy boost just when you need one. Lie on your stomach on your mat, then raise your upper body, supporting yourself on the palms of your hands, elbows straight.

5

Lord of the Dance Pose is Really Cool

Never heard of this one? Adding it to your yoga studio session can do wonders for how energized and awake you feel afterward. This move is a bit more difficult to master than some of the basis poses, but once you get the technique down, you’ll be so glad you did. Stand on your mat, bringing one foot behind you and grasping it with the hand on the same side. Raise your other hand into the air and hold the pose.

Half Lord of the Fishes Pose is One You Can’t Go without

This is one that I haven’t done very many times, but if you get into the right frame of mind, you can feel your energy pumping before you’re even done with it. This one energizes your spine and boosts digestion so it’s great when you’re energy is flagging. Sit with one leg crossed over the other, knee up. Hook your opposite elbow behind your knee, supporting yourself with the other hand.

Try the Upward Bow Pose

Also called Wheel pose, this move isn’t for beginners, but it can give you a mega boost to your energy. It’s basically a backbend where your hands and feet are both on the ground and your spine is bent to the back. You must be very careful with this pose so that you don’t hurt yourself, but it’s one of the best for boosting energy.

Which one gives you the most energy? What other poses would you add to the list?
